For our purposes it’s great.  We’re retired.  My husband won’t admit it but he’s hard of hearing.  His workshop and office is in the basement.  I’m sick of screaming down the stairs like a banshee to get his attention.  So now if he is downstairs he has the pack-set on.   I hit the call button which is very loud to get his attention and then talk to him.  He also wears it when he’s working on the property.  The audio is very clear.  We tested it out and I can get about 1/4 of a mile from the house before we can’t hear each other.  We keep one in the kitchen, one downstairs and the 3rd one is for going outside.  Now I can scream like a banshee for othe reasons LOLOLOL :)

We purchased these for basically around home use sometimes cellphones don't work here. We found that they are simple to use and we have only tried them 1/2 mile distance from one another and they sound quality is excellent!!! I truly believe that hey are going to be durable and last a long while. They came as a set of 2 with charger as the online description was vague when i purchased them. I found replacement batteries on Midland's website for $19.99 for 2 battery packs. Part number AVP14.

These Midland, FRS walkie-talkies are one of the best walkie-talkies I ever had. I have another pair of Midland, GM,RS walkie-talkies, which requires licensing but as far as an FRS walkie-talkie, that does not need licensing. These are my first choice. They have great sound, quality durable, and long range.

We  originally purchased 8 of these radios for our church.  We recently added 4 more to our inventory and we have been very pleased with the performance and the price.  These units work well either indoors or out and they have given us no problems to deal with.  I also recommend the ear pieces we ordered to use with the radios.  This combination is perfect for our use and I give them our highest rating.

Great Value!

We are in the city with lots of buildings and trees. I was looking for something to have a little better range than 1 block. I'm not in the dessert seeking 26 miles, but this does give better range in the city than I've found with other sets.  The weather radio is a nice added feature.

Much better than our $30ish motorola 16 mile set.

Better for kids

I purchased the LXT 600 VP3 which claimed up to #0 mile range but I couldn't even get 5.     My husband and I tried everything and different channels and conditions with no luck. I do like the walkie talkie but it will be used for close communications.

We bought these radios for backup to our "real" radios so we went into this deal knowing that we would not be talking 25 miles away; more like 2 miles in the Louisiana woods. I got some of these for my grandson last Christmas and they work fine at the soccer field and the baseball field and that is about the range we use them at work.
