This Clorox Pool Salt is not just for pools. We use it in the winter instead of rock salt.  It clears the driveway up very fast after shoveling. It is very safe for animals. A lot of animals go into pools for a swim, so if it is safe for the pool then  way not the driveway. I only get this brand. It is very fine and leaves no residue.

Walmart.com was out of salt designed for melting ice on driveways and sidewalks so ... I hoped salt is salt so I took a shot. This pool salt works great at melting ice! We've been in a deep freeze for weeks this winter. Despite the continued deep freeze, this salt melted a huge patch of ice on my front porch in 24 hours. I can't address this salts performance as intended, for pools, but for ice removal it works great! It clumps a little bit in the bag but is easily broken or de-clumped with a quick tap. This has been a frigid winter so far. I barely scratched the volume of this 40 lb bag salting my front porch, sidewalk and part of my driveway. I hope this bag will get me through the rest of the winter but if not, I know where to get more. Thanks Walmart.com!

I Used it to Melt Ice. It Worked Great!

This is the only salt that we use for our large saltwater pool. My husband was THRILLED when I told him I could order it online, which saved him the trip (and back ache).  It's priced less at Walmart than at other big box stores.

Less Expensive Than the Competitors

only salt i could find during snow/ice storm of feb 2026. works great within seconds of  putting down. so far no negative affects on. blacktop or sidewalks.  works great especially for the money

the clorox pool salt is the best i have come across.  disolves almost instantly and havent had any issues with any contaminants such as sand or small pebbles.   other brands i have used, i noticed sand and dirt at the bottom at the pool after adding them.   i will only use the clorox salt.

I have used other brands, but the Clorox pool salt has fewer chunks than other brands, and break apart easily anyway.  The best part is how quickly the salt dissolves; I do it using a 5 gallon pail filled about 1/3rd of the way, then dump in a few pounds of salt and stir it with my arm.  In less than a minute, it's fully dissolved and I dump it in the pool and repeat the process.  There's never any undissolved salt in the bottom of the pool, and I greatly appreciate that.

Best pool salt

This price is a good deal dollar wise, however it is not my first choice.  It does dissolve quickly however is not very "clean". There is obvious dirt sediment that you can see in the salt and pieces of random of debris that litter the bottom of the pool. Minor, but sill required cleanup with the pool vacuum.

Well priced salt but not the cleanest

This was salt chemicals for our pool ,and 10 bags where left on the ground for it to get wet and be in elements I have a sign to deliver on the porch and it definitely can not make it for some reason . I have video of the person putting everything on the ground .

The entire bag has been wet, and it is solid like concrete. I am unable to break even the smallest amount off. It will not work for what I needed the whole bag. is ruined

Wasn't sure what to expect from Clorox brand salt, but it wasn't the metal impurities throughout it. Stay away from this salt if you have a pool with a liner, it'll stain it. We have a fiberglass pool, so hopefully we'll be okay with it. Will have to buy a different brand next time.
